Review quote

Technically accomplished pianists seeking to develop their hands, ears, and imagination in new ways, and to take their audiences on voyages of discovery, are recommended to obtain these volumes at the earliest opportunity. * Musical Opinion * I cannot begin to say enough in praise of both the pedagogical as well as the "student-friendly" value of this wonderful new set of repertoire. Students found the melodies and the rhythms to be captivating . . . Mr. Nyaho has provided teachers and students with repertoire that greatly expands our musical horizon . . . Many of the works are short in length and perfect for those students whose focusing and attention span are more limited . . . BRAVO to Mr. Nyaho for allowing teachers and students an insight into much of the lovely but unknown music written in Africa and the Diaspora! * Julia Amada Kruger, Piano Guild Notes, Spring 2010 * Lying within the covers of this expensively put together clothbound volume, which at a passing glance resembles a PhD thesis bound in all its black and gold finery, is music of extraordinary cultural significance . . . I am sure libraries will be equally keen to invest in this anthology, not just for its consistent clarity of print and robust quality of paper, but for its all-embracing styles and ease of navigation . . . There is far more here than a token assemblage of jazz sketches interspersed with nodes in the direction of Negro spirituals, and the ingenuity of many of the pieces will come as a welcome source of nourishment for teachers targeting the mid to high grades (and beyond). * Mark Tanner, Piano Professional, Autumn 2009 *show more
