Description

Excerpt from The Phrenological Journal, and Magazine of Moral Science, for the Year 1839, Vol. 12 The essays are to be written in English, on folio half-sheets, and on one side of the paper only; to be sent to the Editor, addressed at the Pub lisher's, before July next. Each essay is to have a motto, and some private mark by the Author; but to exhibit no indication by which the writer can be known. The Editor will read the essays, form his own opinion of them, and then transfer them, without comment, to some known phrenologist, who my consent to do the same. They will then exchange notes of their opinions. Public notice will be given to the writers, by the motto of the essay agreed to be the best; and its writer may then prove the authorship by the private mark.
