Elon's musicians and chamber singers were on hand to lead in the singing of Elon's Alma Mater. The Keynote Address was given by the Honorable James B. Hunt, Jr., the governor of North Carolina. The Oath of Office was then given, followed by the presentation of the Presidential Medallion and Lambert's response. Lambert, when asked about the four-day celebration replied, This is a once-in-a lifetime It is more of a celebration of Elon College than anything else a time to reflect its past.
