Description

A tale of fantasy, of Dwarfling struggles and a Wizard who got it wrong, causing total havoc on the UK canals.

If you already enjoy the good v evil of Tolkien's "The Hobbit", crossed with the lilt of Julia Donaldson's "The Gruffalo" and the cheeky humour of Pam Ayres, then you will love Perriwillow.

Follow the Dwarf on a real life journey around the UK canal system, as he flees from evil to get back home.

A humorous and lighthearted insight into canal life at its best, this book will draw you into a world of the mysterious and sometimes dark liquid highway of the Inland Waterways.

Different to anything else you have ever read, this is a compelling and easy to read verse novel with an epic 1600 verses, which will leave you laughing, but often from the edge of your seat.

Highly recommended, not just for boaters, also people who like wizards, witches and dwarves, even if you're not sure about verse novels.

A Little Escapism (Amazon Review)

Found this book very easy to read. Loved the way the real history of the area is incorporated into the story and the little twist at the end. Suitable for all ages but thought that it would be a lovely book to read to children at bedtime.

Read it in two evenings as I didn't want to put it down.

Magical Book (Amazon Review)

I have just received my copy of a Narrowboat Tale and I'm delighted ! It's beautifully written and even though I've only read a little of it, I cannot wait to have the time to really get into it. Thankyou Janul. Put me on your list for the next book XX

Wonderful Adventure For All Ages (Amazon Review)

I'm so excited, my fabulous friend Janul is about to publish this truly unique and special book. It transports you on a journey where the magical map is overlaid on the real one. The inclusion of actual people into the story is a cracker & the observations on boat life had me laughin with it or at it.

I've been honoured to visit this world before you, but now that I have, it will always be with me - I look forward to seeing you there....
