TWIN KILLING

Agent Sam Ryan wants out of the Special Investigations Unit. She's sick of the attitude from her partner, Gabriel Stern. She's sick of the paperwork. Most of all, she's sick of feeling lonely. But her boss isn't about to let her go that easily. He gives Sam a choice: either stay stuck in her office or guard a clone replacement of Dan Wetherton, a government minister. Sam reluctantly chooses the latter--even though she suspects she's being used as bait to draw out the SIU's elusive nemesis.

Gabriel would like nothing better than to be on his own, without a partner to hold him back. Then he learns that Sam has been assigned to protect Wetherton--or whatever it is that's replaced him. Wetherton's clone could have come from only one place: Hopeworth, the military base that contains the secrets of Sam's past. Determined to protect her, Gabriel is drawn into a fight against unspeakable evil. And all too soon, Sam and Gabriel discover that the connection between them is far more powerful than anyone could ever have imagined.

Our customer reviews

Sam is tired of Gabriel’s attitude and reluctantly chooses a guarding assignment and even though they are on separate cases they still cross paths at every turn and soon discover that the connection between them is far more powerful than any could have imagined in thrilling urban fantasy. Thrilling suspense and action keeps readers on the edge of their seat in this fast paced and smooth flowing plot. Keri Arthur paints a vivid world with well written scenes and details that capture the imagination and the well orchestrated action and suspense ensure that the reader wants to know every last detail. Sam and Gabriel are vibrant characters that grab the reader’s attention and draw them deeper into the series. Sam and Gabriel have been fighting their attraction since they met, mostly because of Gabriel’s issues turning him into a jerk, but destiny has a way of getting what it wants. The reader can’t help but get caught up in the story as they try to ignore their growing desires and fight to stop the coming war. But most of the reader’s focus of course is on the story and not really the romance, Sam is slowly remembering the past and putting the pieces together and she realizes that it is much bigger than they all realized which in turn has Gabriel realizing a few truths as well. Spine tingling anticipation builds throughout the story as surprising secrets are revealed and danger escalates adding lots of excitement to the story. I was completely engrossed in the story from the very beginning and I have really enjoyed the series but I have to say that while I loved Gabriel and Sam’s personal happy ending, I am hoping that there are to be future books to answer a few questions especially concerning Joshua and the war that is coming and the rest of the Federation. I also want to recommend that the series be read in sequence to get the full understanding and enjoyment out of Sam’s story. 4 ½ STARSshow more
