This book is a good index of a growing interest in plant anatomy in schools of America and wherever the English language is spoken. It consists of eighteen chapters, with one hundred and thirty-live cuts. In a book of this character it seems to the writer there should have been to-day more illustrative material, particularly to shed further light on the topics treated in the last forty-six pages of the book. The difference between this volume and the usual books on hygiene is in the emphasis placed on corrective work. It seeks to place before the student the problem of his own physical condition in both its negative and positive phases. The author does not attempt to go into great detail but throughout his twenty-two chapters to be practical. The book is illustrated with nearly one hundred cuts. more
