PURPOSE UNKNOWN: On the Ambiguity of Earthly Existence
Author Jean Ovide Bourdeau looks at the ethical platform promoting the pursuit of bliss, through series of ad hoc speculations on the idea that all things surrounding us emerged from an order unknown to us, and proceed along for a 'Purpose Unknown' as well. In his view: "We seem condemned by the nature of things to tentatively fill the void, and create a personalized purpose for ourselves, unless we choose to surrender to others our inherited Cosmic freedom to think and act for ourselves." He adds that: "We must continuously try to understand the foundation on which conscious life obtains its support, comprehend how it nourishes itself, and attempt to discern the purpose of our personal existence in that context, because none of us was ever given a Cosmic Plan." With this reality in mind this author speculates on the human phenomenon: its purpose and mission, and the conundrum in which, we, humans, now find ourselves.
