The Oxford Spanish Dictionary: Windows/Macintosh
This Spanish dictionary contains over 275,000 words and phrases and 450,000 translations. It is the result of almost ten years work by a team of Spanish and English lexicographers. The dictionary includes: coverage of Latin American Spanish; thousands of real-life example sentences; a special emphasis on modern idioms and colloquial usage; clear signposting of different contexts in an entry; and detailed labelling for easy identification of alternative meanings, style levels, and regional expressions. It should also actively help students to develop their use of Spanish, with appendices on points of usage and a guide to personal and business correspondence, including business faxes, job applications, making reservations, and complaining. The CD-ROM has fast and flexible searching facilities, a correspondence section, and verb tables. Specifications: Windows CD-ROM: IBM PC or full compatible with 80486SX (DX recommended) processor or above; 4Mb free RAM (8Mb recommended); VGA monitor or better; DOS 3.3 or higher; Windows 3.1 or higher; compatible with Windows95; Windows-compatible CD-ROM drive; MSCDEX version 2.21 or higher; and 0.6 Mb free hard disk space.
