Excerpt from Overseas, Vol. 6: The Monthly Journal of the Overseas Club and Patriotic League; August, 1921 Ireland once more absorbs a very large share of our thoughts and prayers, though what will be the outcome of Mr. Lloyd George's letter to Mr. De Valera and the subsequent historic meeting at the Dublin Mansion House on July 4th, when the latter, accompanied by Mr. Arthur Griffith, met four leading Southern Unionists, and that of Mr. Lloyd George and Mr. De Valera and his colleagues at 10, Downing Street on July 14th, it is at the moment too early to say. Certainly not for many a long day have the prospects of an Irish settlement seemed so good. The present Truce in Ireland has brought out one fact above all.
