Bestselling Author Mary Connealy Delivers Her Trademark Historical Romantic Comedy

Seth Kincaid survived a fire in a cave, but he's never been the same. He was always a reckless youth, but now he's gone over the edge. He ran off to the Civil War and came back crazier than ever.

After the war, nearly dead from his injuries, it appears Seth got married. Oh, he's got a lot of excuses, but his wife isn't happy to find out Seth doesn't remember her. Callie has searched, prayed, and worried. Now she's come to the Kincaid family's ranch in Colorado to find her lost husband.

Callie isn't a long-suffering woman. Once she knows her husband is alive, she wants to kill him. She's not even close to forgiving him for abandoning her.

Then more trouble shows up in the form of a secret Seth's pa kept for years. The Kincaid brothers might lose their ranch if they can't sort things out. It's enough to drive a man insane--but somehow it's all making Seth see things more clearly. And now that he knows what he wants, no one better stand in his way.

Seth Kincaid remembers almost everything...

except getting married!

Seth Kincaid survived a fire in a cave, but he hasn't been the same since. Then he fought in the Civil War and returned to Colorado crazier than ever.

Somewhere along the line, it appears Seth got married. Oh, he has a lot of excuses, but his wife isn't too happy to find out Seth doesn't remember her. Callie isn't a long-suffering woman. When Seth disappeared, she searched, prayed, and worried. Now she's come out west to wrangle her long-lost husband.

Seth is willing to make amends. Callie is more interested in shooting him. Can they rekindle their love before one of them goes over the edge?

"With trademark humor, Connealy (In Too Deep; Out of Control) weaves a delightful tale that is sure to please her fans and win her new readers. Recommend it to those who enjoy the fiction of Mona Gansberg Hodgson." --Library Journal

Our customer reviews

When I picked up this book, I was pretty sure it would be another sappy Christian Western romance, and I figured I would have to struggle through it. I can tell you that I was wrong about that point. The action drew me in from the beginning, and I was rather intrigued by the story. I only wished that the action had not been so sporadic. But it was not a sappy love story. I loved Seth and Callie. They made the reading absolutely worthwhile. In fact, I would have loved to read more about their relationship. I really did not care much for the other characters. And sometimes the story lagged a little bit. But the exchanges between Seth and Callie were realistic and fun. I found myself rooting for Seth but fully supporting Callie. I wish there had been more Christian influence in this novel. This has become a growing trend for God to almost take a back seat in Christian books. I don't like the other extreme of forcing Christ into the story, but I only saw the characters pray a few times, and there was no emphasis on living by Biblical principles. In spite of everything, it's a nice, light, clean read that is suitable for all ages. You will love Callie's *****, and your heart will break for Seth. I can mostly recommend this book to lovers of clean Western romances. I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.show more
