After a minute Kitty understood what "that book" meant, and her heart bounded with a new hope as she picked out the bits that she thought the prettiest in the Gospel narrative. Sweet stories, read without note or comment, of those wonderful three years when the Son of God "walked about amongst men," and wandered up and down the lovely land, which has since been emphatically "the Holy Land." Every Sunday evening after that Kitty read from the Gospels to her husband, who, every time, listened more attentively, and frequently asked for certain stories over again.
