The Other Side of Modernity : Modernism Revisited
With reference to contemporary theories of postmodernism, this book argues the case for a new conception of literary modernism. It both reassesses well-known modernist texts in relation to questions of gender, ethnicity and national identity, and introduces readings of previously marginalized works by women, working class and African-American writers.
