About Milton Hatoum

Milton Hatoum was born in Manaus, Brazil, in 1952. He is the author of Tale of a Certain Orient, The Brothers and The Ashes of the Amazon. All three won the prestigious Jabuti Prize for fiction and have been translated into English. He also published a collection of short stories in 2009, A Cidade Ilhada (The Island City).
