Description

Gordon MacKenzie worked at Hallmark Cards for thirty years, where he inspired his colleagues to slip the bonds of Corporate Normalcy and rise to orbit - to a mode of dreaming, daring, and doing above and beyond the rubber-stamp confines of the administrative mind-set. In his deeply funny book, exuberantly illustrated in full color, he shares lessons on awakening and fostering creative genius. He teaches how to emerge from the "giant hairball" - that tangled, impenetrable mass of rules, and systems, based on what worked in the past and which can lead to mediocrity in the present.show more

Our customer reviews

Gordon MacKenzie was one crazy guy. Amazing that he managed to stay sane in the one workplace for 30 years ... not to mention keep his job. Clearly indispensable, and fortunately recognised. The value Gordon contributed to Hallmark is surely immense and immeasurable. While I would never dream of setting up a darkened office with candles and weird artefacts, I could relate to his stories. We are so lucky he managed to get this book finished and published just 18 months before he passed away. It is a true gem.show more
