Review Text

The author of this book is clearly one of those who believe business should be fun. He is Chairman of St Luke's, an advertising and creative communications company which operates as a co-owned venture. This is the story of its set-up and of the principles on which it operates. The philosophy behind it is simple: organize things so that the individual is allowed to thrive and enjoy their work and the organization is more likely to prosper. It may be easier to pursue such a philosophy in a company that earns its living being creative, and it is necessary to maintain a sharp market focus, but the details make it clear - there are lessons here for every kind of organization. It will give you ideas about the sort of organization you might like to work in, and illustrate how this might just be possible in practice. (Kirkus UK)show more
