What a complete contrast this was to it! The bare floor and the little iron bedstead, the ugly deal washstand, and all the poor furniture of the room, which she loved and valued in spite of its poverty--it camo into her mind now so vividly that it blotted out for an instant the beautiful picture before her, and Mary's words came back to her remembrance, words she never could forget, "Mamma often says she would gladly give up all the money she has if Bobby was strong like other boys of his age, and able to get about by himself."
