Petitioner asks to be relieved from the payment of taxes for 1858, and to have writ of seizure set aside. The original claim for tax amounts to twelve dol ars. I have investigated this case, find that "Jochem " is poor, old and feeble, and really an object for your charitable consideration. I therefore recommend the passage of the following resolution. H. BONZANO, Administrator. 1_Zce0lvcd, That the City Attorney be and he is hereby authorized to give the Sheriff such instructions in the case of the city of New Orleans vs. W. Jochem, as may be necessary in order to meet the petitioner in the spirit of this report. To the City Council of New Orleans: Petitioneiis furniture has been seized for tax of L968, amounting to fifteen dollars. It is a case of poverty, and I move the City Attorney be authorized to instruct the Sheriif to suspend writ indefinitely. H. BONZANO, A(lIDiDlBtl'M50l'. On the petition of T. F.
