Possessing, as this Society does, subscribers resident in many eastern countries, the races and tribes whose manners, customs, beliefs, literature, &e., may furnish subjects for short contributions under the above heading are by no means few in number: valuable scraps of information about them are, it may be hoped, to be obtained from members who will not object to communicate short notes on matters of interest, though they may be disinclined to extend their memoranda to the dimensions of an essay.
