Description

American colleges used to be bastions of free speech. Now they're bastions of speech codes. Students used to demand truth. Now they demand trigger warnings. Professors used to encourage critical thinking. Now they encourage conformity.Make no mistake: this is the state of education in the Unites States of America, once the world's last best champion of classical liberalism. In Not a Day Care, Dr. Everett Piper, president of Oklahoma Wesleyan University, takes a hard look at what's happening at American universities like the University of Missouri, Yale, Brandeis, Oberlin, and others. How do we prevent all places of higher learning from becoming politically correct "safe spaces"? Dr. Piper takes a courageous first step in Not a Day Care, a rebellion against the infantilization of the American mind.show more

Review quote

"You must read this book. Everett Piper is a man of courage and conviction. He stands nearly alone as an academic leader confronting the ideological fascism of the snowflake rebellion. His call for intellectual freedom must be heard." -- GLENN BECK, The Blaze "While others run from the battle Piper shows over and over again at least one person is willing was to run toward it... Finally, a voice of sanity in the halls of the ivory tower..." --Josh McDowell, author and speaker "Dr. Piper represents a voice of reason amidst the insanity and pabulum of the current generation!"-- Steve Largent, member of the NFL Hall of Fame and former Oklahoma Congressman "Finally, some clarity in our murky times! Everett Piper exposes the shallowness and tragedy of so much of modern education." --Sean McDowell, author and speaker." "The tallest trees take the wind. Everett Piper is a redwood. To grow tall, each tree needs air, water, sun and nutrients. For us to grow tall, we need the vitals of a tree and much more: learning, morals, ideals, courage, humility and a stretch for excellence. Piper shows us how to stretch and to get there. It is a must read." --Frank Keating, former Governor of Oklahoma "Snowflakes will melt when confronted by the global economic war already underway. The world doesn't offer 'safe spaces.' Fortunately, Dr. Everett Piper is training critical thinkers ready to lead America. His candle of truth in the darkness can and must redirect the course of higher education back to the path of sanity."-- Kevin D. Freeman, New York Times Best seller and Host of Economic War Room "Despite the blizzards of insanity generated by our 'learning' institutions, Dr. Piper stands guard over the warming fire of Truth."-- Mrs. Sam Sorbo, Actress and Author of They're YOUR Kids and Teach from Love "Dr. Piper is a dose of reality in a world of college fantasies. He says and does what ever college president ought to say, but won't."--Jim Garlow, pastor, speaker and New York Times best selling author of Cracking da Vinci's Code "Dr. Piper is one of the leading thinkers in America. Everyone should read this book." --Kelly Shackelford, Esq. President, CEO & Chief Counsel, First Liberty Institute "It seems that while nearly all other college presidents cower in the face of today's students protests, Dr. Everett Piper is the only one to step forward with confidence and courage..." --Kevin Sorbo, actor, speaker and writer "'Rugged American individualism' . . . 'The Puritan work-ethic'. . . 'The Greatest Generation' . . . Such are the phrases that made America the greatest nation in the world. Now we are talking 'snowflakes, ' 'safe spaces, ' and 'trigger alerts'? Not Piper. He challenges the rising generation to get some backbone, pick up the mantle, and retake lost ground." --David Barton, author and founder of Wall Builders Radio "There are very few in the ranks of academia with the courage to confront the nonsense of 'snowflakes' and their 'safe spaces' and Dr. Piper leads this small band of courageous souls." -- Tony Perkins, Family Research Councilshow more
