Excerpt: ...for Manitoba bran and some of the millers made sales of round lots for near-by and future shipment, while they were compelled to turn some orders down for 500-ton lots. There also continues to be a good demand for home consumption and, on the whole, tbe market is very active, with a strong undertone, but prices show no change. Manitoba bran is selling at $22, shorts at $23, Ontario bran at $22.50023, and middlings at $23.50 (324 per ton, including bags. A fairly active trade is doing in moullie, with sales of pure grain grades at $31fo33, and mixed at $27ft 29 per ton. Tbe market for rolled oats is unchanged, prices being steady with a fair trade at $4.75 per bbl or at $2.25 per bag. Corn meal is firm under a steady demand at $3,6013.70 per bbl in bags. Business in Manitoba spring wheat over the cable this week has been very slow. The volume of business done so far for spring shipment from this port has been small, but as the demand seldom sets in strong before March, exporters are in hopes of doing a good trade yet. A few odd loads of No. 1 northern were sold to London for February-March shipment at 39s 7%dr39s 9d. There is no improvement in tbe demand for ocean grain room for spring shipment from here, for which agents are still asking Is 6d to Liverpool, London, and Glasgow, Is 7%d to Manchester, 2s 3d to Leitb, Is 9d to Antwerp and Avonmouth, and 2s 3drrf2s 4%d to Dublin and Belfast. In sympathy with the weakness in tbe Winnipeg option market for oats during the week and the decline in the May option of l%fSl%c per bu, a weaker feeling has developed in the local market and prices are %c per bu lower.
