"The general character of Negro'life and worship in our Church is not only claimed by us to be higher than that of the membership of the distinctively Negro organiza tions, but leading ministers of white denominations and bishops of their Churches, quite a number of leading colored ministers and a few bishops of colored Churches have publicly declared again and again this to be true."
