He is best known for his work on the TV drama series "The Running Mate" (2007) and the feature film The Last Furlong (2011). Nick Murphy was born and raised in Kilkenny, Ireland. He studied English and History at Trinity College Dublin (1996-2000) and was very active in the drama society Players, mainly as an actor and director. In 2001 he did a Masters in Film Production in DIT Aungier Street where he met Vicki Parks whom he later married in 2006. While at university he directed several theatre productions including Arthur Miller's "Death Of A Salesman," featuring actors Joel Lewis, Mark Huberman, Dylan Tighe, and Rebecca Daly.
