It is pleasant to hear such words. "It has been said of Buffalo that it is a. big family. The members of it are not always harmonious when left alone with their domestic affairs. Like other Americans they have their own views and opinions regarding family matters. They have their frictions and differences regarding the household. But they have a welcoming heart for strangers within their gates. "Years of experience has made known to us that at this season no place in the country, week in and week out, is pleasanter than Buffalo with its bright days and cool nights, its wealth of foliage and sward and parks and its neighboring attractions, and it is always pleasing to have visitors initiated into this experience and knowledge. "Buffalo is still a. human city. It is sometimes chided for not having fully thrown off village ways. It may be at fault; but, after all, there are some village characteristics that may well be retained----the spirit of hospitality, the cordial welcome of the stranger, the sympathetic interest in the purposes and the doings of all who come together in all sorts of activities and relationships. "The attractiveness of Buffalo as a convention city, as a continental gathering place, especially in the summer months, is becoming known more widely from year to year, and it is gratifying to think that it is standing the test."
