Excerpt from New Testament Theology: Independent Of, and Unfettered by the Traditions of Men
It may be said, that it is every person's privilege to either read, or not read a book. But when one decides to read a book in which points are taken, or propositions made, the reader, as he peruses the work, should decide whether each point is well made, and each proposition is well established, as the sub sequent point, or proposition, may turn upon that next preceding it. This, the reader is respectfully requested to do as he peruses this volume; for he will certainly find points in it. And the reader is especially requested to impartially decide, whether such points and propositions are, or are not, clearly sustained by the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ and those of his apostles. In fact, this volume can not be read profitably, and with interest, it any other manner.
