Hall of ihe Stove. The frescoes of the four partitions of this hall are by Pielro da Cortona, they represent the four ages of the world.--The golden age is represented by boys playing and giving themselves up to innocent delights.--The silver age is represented by young shepherds occupied at their labours. The age of copper is symbolized by soldiers showing to a Dictator the wounds by them received in battle, whilst they obtain the rewards of their courage.--The age of iron is represented by soldiers sacking a town of which they are killing the inhabitants. The vault frescoes are by Malleo Rosselli in 1622 In this hall are also four ancient marble statues, a pillar of green porphiry supporting a porcelaine vase with Napoleon's portrait; and two bronze statues representing Cain and Abel, modelled by Prof. Papi on the marble statues sculptured by Prof. Dupre, for the Duke of Leuchlenberg. Returning to the former hall, a corridor on your left leads to a small bathing room, architectured by Cacialli. The stucco ornaments are by Marinelli. The four marble statues decorating this small cabinet, are by Giovanni Insom, and Salvalore Bongiovmni. Hall of Ulysses. The pictures of the ceiling are by Gaspero Martellini, and are an allusion to the return in Tuscany of Ferdinand III.--285. Portrait of a man, G. Pagani.--286. S. Catherine, Currado.--287.
