Book And Pamphlet Society.--We are requested to give notice that it is the intention of a number of receivers of the New Church Doctrines, who have been considering the subject, to take measures to form a Society for the purpose of procuring means to distri Receipts for the last nine months. t They somewhat exceed that sum. bute books, pamphlets, and tracts; and to encourage lecturers to enter the field which is: S0 fast ripening to harvest. It is proposed to call a meeting of all interested in the subject, sometime during the sitting of the next General Convention in New York (of which due notice will be given), for the purpose of consulting and comparing views upon the necessity of adopting a plan of co-operation, by which this use--the spreading of a knowledge of the goods and truths of the Lord's Church--may become more general and efficient. It is to be hoped that the brethren will consult together upon this subject, and will come prepared to co-operate in an effort which may lead to good results, and thus rejoice the hearts of all who look for the Second Coming of our Lord. We learn that Dr. N. C. Burnham, recently-f Cincinnati, has received and accepted a call from the New Church Society, at Peoria, Illinois, to labor with them in the ministry. He has already entered the field and established himself among the people of his charge. Rev. Solyman Brown, for many years pastor of the N. C. Society at South Danby, N. Y., ihas recently felt constrained by the claims of a growing family, though much to theregret of his people, to remove to this city, and establish himself in a branch of the business of Dentistry.
