Never Turn Left : Voices from the Second Generation
The future is rushing to meet me, and I know that I will realize only a fraction of what I am and can be. I am beginning to truly absorb the fact of mortality, and I don't like it. There are so many more things I can do; that I want to do. And there is much that I would like to pass on, especially to my children and grandchildren. So I am writing down a few of my memories. But this is not a traditional memoir. It is a collection of essays and stories, thoughts and ideas which, taken together, define a life of transition between two worlds.

About Professor of Materials Science Louis A Girifalco
I am the University Professor of Materials Science Emeritus at The University of Pennsylvania where I have been a teacher, scholar and administrator from 1961 to 2012. In addition to theoretical solid state physics, I have been interested in a variety of subjects ranging from gravity and the meaning of truth, to religion and science. Writing has always been my avocation. My book on gravity (Oxford University Press) was my first work for a general audience. Now I will self publish my memoirs, novels and essays via Createspace and Kindle. I am starting with "Never Turn Left" because it describes my origins and reflects the fact that my family is my highest priority.
