A Never-Give-Up Heart
As a parent of a child who has special challenges, do you sometimes feel like giving up? The responsibilities of raising any child can take a parent's full energy, but trying to meet the needs of a son or daughter with extra difficult challenges may seem overwhelming. Drawing from her experience as a mom of three children, two of whom have had disabilities, Bev Linder offers encouragement from a Christian perspective and practical suggestions in helping both parents and special kids to have a heart that never gives up. The term "special challenges" is very broad and refers to issues ranging from mild learning challenges to more severe disabilities, and everything in between. Realizing that a feeling of isoation is common among special parents, and perhaps particularly moms, the author has included a study guide at the end of each chapter as well as a "how to facilitate a small group" section to encourage parents/moms to get together for discussion times and encouragement.
