Her name is on everyone's lips...

When he left for America six years ago, the handsome Viscount Stonehurst never suspected that he would return home to England to find his lovely fiancee embroiled in the scandal of the decade. The woman he planned on making his wife has been kissing every man in London...except him!

But scandal doesn't matter in search of the truth...

Engaged and then abandoned, Mirabella Wittingham is determined to find the man who drove her cousin to suicide, even if it means ruining her reputation and disgracing herself in the process...When her plans go awry, Mirabella has no choice but to turn to her long-lost fiance for help. But can she trust the man who deserted her so many years ago, or is he destined to fail her yet again?

"Readers will be quickly drawn in by the lively pace, the appealing protagonists, and the sexual chemistry that almost visibly shimmers between them in this charming, light-hearted, and well-done Regency."

Our customer reviews

My summary of the book - Mirabella has been waiting years for her fiancé to come back from America and when he finally returns he finds her in a middle of scandal. The only reason she is in a scandal is that she is trying to find the man who made her cousin to commit suicide. Can the pair still be engaged and can Mirabella find the man who took advantage of her cousin. Thoughts on the characters - Mirabella is quite amusing and lovely at the same time. She only cares about finding the man who hurt her cousin so he can't do it to another woman and she doesn't mind if it ruins her reputation. She cares about her family and tries to protect them all. When she finally meets her fiancé she is shocked by the attraction but when he finds out what she has been up to she doesn't know what to do. Obliviously he is angry but she can't stop her quest. Camden is very angry when he finds out what Mirabella has been up while he has been in America but he needs to pretend they are the happy couple while he sorts out his family problems. He is determined to help his family even if he has to be Mirabella all the time. He also feels the attraction with Mirabella which confuses him as he is angry with her and knows she is hiding something but he just can't stay away from her. Overall thoughts - This is a first one of Amelia Grey's books that I have read and loved it. As soon as I started reading I was sucked in and read it in one day. It is very amusing, passionate and brilliant read. There is one bit I love where Mirabella is actually blaming Camden for the reason why she is kissing other gentleman because she is trying to distract him from the real reason. He just can't believe that she is blaming him and it is amusing how they interact over how they view things. This is another author to add to growing pile of authors to definitely read.show more
