Thomas, of the Company, in introducing Professor Charles Sumner Evans, director of the Dayton Manual Training School, said that Mr. Evans stood for a branch of education in which the N C R, together with every other industrial establish ment, was deeply interested. Mr. Evans, in a short talk. said in part: "Dayton is almost asleep so far as industrial education is concerned. "e Ought to have manual training in every grade throughout our schools. Nc ought also to have a technical training school, an institution for which there is a great need and a great opportunity.-Ve appreciate the efforts of the N C R Company and all other friends of manual training, but so far we have been unable to secure what we want. At present we are able to give this training only to the eighth grade and in the high school classes. If we had the funds and facilities, we could fill these classes four times over." Professor A. J. Willoughby, president of the Principals' Association, also made a short address.
