Get to know the real Jo Whiley - she is not only a well-known and much respected DJ but also a mother to four children, a wife, a daughter and a sister. Championing young bands and presenting the BBC coverage of Glastonbury is only part of her story. Through simply being herself and maintaining her passion for music she has become a media icon and an award-winning DJ. At the same time she has managed to hold on to her privacy. "My World in Motion" is as much about Jo's family life as it is about rock 'n roll royalty, and how she has managed to stay grounded as her career has gathered pace. But from early trips to Clash concerts, to her friendship with John Peel, attending Glastonbury with her children, and enthusing about the Arctic Monkeys before they were playing Wembley, for Jo Whiley, it all comes back to music.

About Jo Whiley

Jo Whiley joined Radio 1 in 1993, when she co-presented The Evening Session with Steve Lamacq. In 1997 she took up daytime residency until 2009, when her show moved to the weekends, giving Jo more time to spend with her four children and husband. Jo has co-presented coverage of the Glastonbury Festival for both Channel 4 and the BBC, and her formidable talents were acknowledged when she was crowned DJ of the Year at the Sony Radio Awards in 1998. Jo also fronts the BBC TV coverage of the Mercury Awards.
