Kaylee has one addiction: her very hot, very popular boyfriend, Nash. A banshee like Kaylee, Nash understands her like no one else. Nothing can come between them. Until something does. Demon breath. No, not the toothpaste-challenged kind. The Netherworld kind. The kind that really can kill you. Somehow the super-addictive substance has made its way to the human world. But how? Kaylee and Nash have to cut off the source and protect their friends--one of whom is already hooked. And so is someone else...

Also reviewed on my blog, The Vintage Bookworm. ( For some reason every time I pick up a book from this series and start it, it takes me a while to get into it! Not sure why that is, but once I finally do get into it I can't stop! I get dragged in and all I want to do is sit there and read and figure out what kind of mess Kaylee, Nash, and Tod are going to get themselves into next. And 99% of the time it's because Kaylee can't stand by and not HELP whoever is in trouble. She HAS to help them. She feels it's her duty, and I love that about her. Sometimes I really do want to smack Kaylee, but most of the time she's a great character to be reading about. She's smart and very loyal to her friends and family. I also really like Nash and Tod. I remember in the beginning of the first book I didn't like Tod much, but with each book I love him just that much more. He's hilarious. And Nash, I've loved him since the start, if I remember correctly. Though in this book he disappointed me a bit. He always seems to perfect, but he definitely proves you wrong in this book. I'm not going to go into details, but he gets himself into a bit of trouble. He completely broke my heart in this book. =( Though I do still feel bad for him. My other favorite characters are Harmony, Kaylee's dad and her Uncle Brendon. They are great to have around and they seem the type of people I'd love to have in my own family. Especially Harmony, as she's always nice and ALWAYS baking something nice. =) I do love me some food, and looove me some sweet stuff. If you've read book two (You better have if you're reading this review!) you've learned about Demon's Breath. In the third installment you get to learn more about it and get a little more deep into it. It makes a great plot and very interesting, but also very scary! I was sighing so much in this book because I was worried about Kaylee, Nash and Tod. Overall, as always Rachel Vincent has done it again. I'm DYING to pick up book four from the library, but I've made a new rule to finish the ones I have before picking up new ones...Boo! I definitely liked this one a lot better than the second book, they are just going to keep getting better and better I can just feel it. And this third installment had the most twists out of the series so far, at least in my opinion. If you haven't started this series yet, you should definitely check it out. It's definitely unique and Rachel is an amazing writer. This is her second series that I've fallen in love with. She's definitely one of my top favorite authors. So watch out for her!show more

As always Kaylee finds herself in the middle of a calamity: someone is selling black balloons (yep, balloons) to one of the jocks at her school. One of Nash's friends to be more clear. But, why is a balloon so important, right? The thing is, these black balloons hide a terrible secret: they are full of Demon's Breath which means that someone is bringing them from the Netherworld to make the whole high-school addicted to it... and the first two to fall are Emma and Sophie's boyfriends. The thing is: who is dealing with Demon's Breath? Who brings it from the Netherworld? Who started this whole thing? And why is Tod missing almost all the time? Personal opinion: While I love this book as much as the others I have to say the ending was bittersweet. Why? Well, sorry, you have to read the book to know why but I can say one thing: I didn't see that coming. At all. And it was great to learn that something that happened in the previous book had affected the future of the characters. Still, despite the fact that the ending left me quite sad it's true that the book was terrific. The twists, the facts and the characters keep developing non-stop. You will cheer for you favorite character, you will smile but above all you will try to keep your hopes up. I can't honestly wait to read the next one and get as many answers as I can. What will happen next? That's my biggest question right now. If you want to know the answer buy the books and read them ASAP!^^show more

I really like books like this: full of emotion, suspense, and unexpected turns. But this unexpected turn almost made me want to tear my hair out! I have to admit though, I kinda knew what it was in the back of my mind. Just like Kaylee, I was like: No, no, thats not possible. Boy was I wrong. There are so many problems. But the ultimate question is: Will Kaylee and Nash's relationship survive? There's only one way to find out: stay tunned for My Soul to Steal ;) View more here (review in Q & A format): more

In my Soul To Keep we continue following Kaylee?s life as a bean sidhe, this time jocks are getting high on Frost, an addictive drug from the Netherworld that causes insanity and death. Now she and Nash must try to find out how this drug is being brought into their high school and put a stop to it, with the help of Tod of course and some new characters. In my opinion this the best book in the series so far and the characters really grow in this one since they have to make very important choices that will change some relationships like Kaylee and Nash?s. I always liked Tod but in this book he?s really made of awesome! I really enjoyed reading how much he always helped the people he cares about like Addy and Kaylee, and there?s one part when he gets mad at Nash for something he did to Kaylee that really made me laugh out loud , you?ll know what I?m talking about when you read it ;) Speaking of Nash, he kind of annoyed me in this book, I mean I like him but I definitely don?t love him and he made some pretty bad mistakes in this book specially when he asks for help to none other the Avari who became Kaylee?s enemy in book 2, I was like ?Are you for real? What the hell are you doing?!?There?s definitely trouble in paradise for these two in this book and then we?re introduced to Alec and I kept wondering if something is going to happen between Kaylee and Alec in the future, specially because of how her relationship with Nash stands right now, I definitely want to get to know him better! Overall I had a great time reading this book, and this series is definitely growing more on more

Something evil from the Netherworld is infiltrating Kaylee and Nash's high school scene - Demon's breath. The kids are calling it frost and it is quickly becoming the new popular way to get high. Kaylee and Nash know just how dangerous Demon's breath is. While trying to save their friends, one of whom is already addicted to the frost, something comes between them. Kaylee will have to decide how to save her friends without the help of her boyfriend. I so enjoy this series! It's just so engaging. I fly through the books and am lost in them. The writing is engrossing and the characters trap you in. And it's something different from the other paranormal books out there. Once again, I really liked Kaylee. She's just a great, down-to-earth character. But I have to say that Nash disappointed me this time around (which I think he was supposed to). After reading the last book in the series, MY SOUL TO SAVE, I grew to really like Tod. And now, I think I might like him more than I like Nash. Hopefully, Nash can redeem himself in the next book, MY SOUL TO STEAL, but I have to wait until January for the chance to read it! *Gold Star Award Winner!show more

I'm one of the many millions of people is the world with dyslexia, so please forgive me for any spelling, grammar etc... mistakes I might make.  After reading the Twilight Saga I went looking for something abit different to read and Came across Rachel's Shifter Series (They are awesome BTW) and since reading them, I came across this series. My Soul To Keep is the 3rd book in the Soul Screamers series and is about a 16 year old bean sidhe (banshee), Kaylee. When she encounters someone who is about to die Kaylee screams for their soul hence the series name. The main characters are Kaylee and her Boyfriend Nash who is also a bean sidhe* and His brother Todd who is a reaper. They are several other characters which include her Dad Aiden*, her Uncle Brendon*, Cousin Sophie (who's human), Harmony* Nash's Mother, Doug and Scott who are Nash's friends, also Kaylee's best friend Emma all three are also human. The book starts off at a party in Nash's friend Scott's house. Emma's boyfriend Doug is coming on abit to strong for Kaylee and Nash's liking, so they go and try to help her out. After breaking them up Doug gets anger and drives off only a few seconds later hits Kaylee car in the process. When they go to make sure he's ok she can smell a deadly substance on his breath that should only be found in the Netherworld and it's called Demon's breath or in the human world Frost. Once Kaylee finds out how dangerous it is to humans and bean sidhe alike, her mission becomes finding out who is responsible and stopping them. During her investigation her world is turned up side down by the betrayal of someone close to her. I won't give away anymore as I don't want to spoil it. But for me this is a must read. The main characters change so much in this book some for the better and some for the worst, but half way through you understand why they've changed. Most people have criticized the ending, but I really love how it keeps you on the edge of you seat wanting more. Fingers crossed Rachel's next book will start where this one finished. The only negative things I can say is, I wish some of the book was writing from Nash's point of view. Once you're read it you should understand why I feel like that. Also that is was easier to get a hold of, as it isn't out in the UK yet. Can't wait till My Soul to Steal comes out in January more
