My Life After... the Death of My Son (a Story of Miracles)
My Life After... the death of my son (a story of miracles) is the story of my life starting one week before the death of my son who was killed on a combat mission while stationed in Afghanistan. It chronicles the struggle of going through a divorce while having to bury a son. It also takes the reader on my 5-year journey of turning a devastating tragedy into something to honor my son, and more importantly, making a positive difference in the lives of others. This book has received high accolades from a wide audience of readers. It will make you laugh, but it has also brought strong macho men to tears. Anyone who has ever endured the death of a loved one will relate to the many ups and downs that one faces with a sudden loss. My story gives one hope that you can triumph from life's blows. This book covers how my son contacts me from heaven and all the miracles that have happened in my life since his death. It also shares my belief that God has given me a burning bush sign and how I am set out on a course to found a non-profit called My Warrior's Place. This retreat center was started with less than $500.00 in the bank account and nothing but my faith. I hope that you enjoy reading this book and all proceeds raised will be donated to My Warrior's Place.

About Kelly R Kowall
Kelly Kowall is one of those rare individuals capable of turning tragedy into a wide-reaching good. As the mother of an active-duty soldier in Afghanistan, Kelly was aware of the possibility of losing her son, but no doubt that foreknowledge did not make the news that her son, Army Spc. Corey Kowall, had been killed on September 20, 2009, any easier to bear. While such a loss is enough to break many people, Kelly sought to find a way to honor her son's memory and provide a way to help others deal with their grief. Kelly became a ICF certified Life Coach in 2002. Then in 2010 completed the TAPS Peer Mentoring Training becoming an extremely effective peer mentor for other Gold Star Mothers. In 2012 she became a certified Grief Services Provider by the American Grief Academy. Kelly is president and founder of the 501 (c) (3) non-profit, My Warrior's Place, which is a retreat center located directly on the Little Manatee river in Ruskin FL, where Veterans, Military Service Members, First Responders and Gold Star Families can find refuge and have a place to heal from the tragedies they have had to endure. She is also an accomplished writer, speaker, and trainer and has over 20 years experience in sales, marketing, and management.
