While venturing to hope for acceptance through him alone, have you known anything of the emotions described in Zech. xii. 10: "They shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his first-born?" If his bitter sufferings have never thus affected you, be assured your departed child or relative, if permitted, would say to you, "Weep not for me, for the temporary loss you have sustained by my removal from you; but weep for yourself, for your own estrangement from God, your exclusion from 'all spiritual blessings in heavenly places/ your exposure to that wrath, which abideth on every one, who believeth not the Son of God."
