Description

Tim Power's began his new life as a college boy opposite of how many other kids begin theirs. His parents were killed by a drunk truck driver on his move in day. The same day he was introduced to drugs and alcohol as a coping mechanism for his somber mind. His roommate quickly becomes his best friend and trouble making companion as the boys begin to go to class, parties, and mingle with girls. Tim tries to block out his sadness with denial, by not committing to a funeral for his parents and simply forgetting that they ever died, but he cannot block out their memory forever and eventually his mentality crashes and he falls into a trip of alcohol abuse. He meets a gorgeous girl named Shelly, who he falls for immediately, but cannot quit making mistakes to hurt the relationship. Throughout half of a semester, Tim almost physically abuses her and breaks her heart, while at the same time freaking himself out and finding it hard to live inside of his mind. It's not until Tim meets a few teachers, a cab driver, the school psychologist and eventually gets suspended that he realizes that he must come to terms with himself and the others that he's hurt; including his parents.show more
