The Regents of ithe University will now be obliged to make the appointments they have so long endeavoured to postpone. The discussion on the Bill in the Senate was expected to be both long and animated, and large numbers of those interested assembled to hear the debate; but the whole matter was settled in seven minutes, and the new professorial chairs were established by a majority of 32 out of 78 recorded votes. THE CLIMATE OF ALGIERS. M. Sasaav, in a careful and conscientious study of this subject (" De la Temperature de la Ville d'Alger, an Point do Vue des Maladies Chroniques de la Poitrine"), arrives at the following conclusions, which are important to consumptive invalids, who transport themselves thither in numbers from these shores: --" This climate is fatal to the phthisical from the month of May to the month of October.
