Description

Excerpt from The Monthly Abstract of Medical Science, 1878, Vol. 5: A Digest of the Progress of Medicine and the Collateral Sciences Another case, furnished by Dr. Herbert Lilley, contains an account of a sequela to a case of rheumatism which, if it be due, as he supposes, to the effects of sali cin or salicylic acid, is a matter for serious consideration in prescribing these drugs. Hitherto, however, necrosis of bone does not appear to have complicated cases of rheumatism under this treatment, and it is possible that in Dr. Lilley's case the necrosis mav have been in some measure connected with the strumous habit of the child.
