Excerpt from Minutes of the One Hundred and Eighth Annual Meeting of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod and Ministerium of North Carolina: Held in St. Paul's Church, Wilmington, North Carolina, Beginning Wednesday, May 10, 1911
Resolved, 1. That we hereby endorse the plans and constitutions used in the organization of Children's Societies and Women's Societies.
Resolved, 2. That we recommend the plans and constitutions thus used, to our pastors and people, where organizations have not yet been effected.
Resolved, 3. That in the meetings held during the annual sessions of Synod, in the interests of Education, Beneficiary Education, Home Mis sions, etc., a. Collection be taken for the objects in whose interests the meeting is held.
Resolved, 4. That it is the sense of this Synod that ministers and their' families should be regularly connected as members with a congregation contiguous to their place of residence. (see report of Committee on Pres ident's Report, Resolved, 5. That the granting of letters of dismissal from the Luth eran Church is contrary to the right usage of our church.
