About Linda Bird

Linda J. Bird specializes in corporate training and support through Software Solutions, her own company. She has successfully trained users representing more than 75 businesses, including several Fortune 500 companies. Her clients have included Appalachian Electric Power Co., Goodyear, Pillsbury, Rockwell, and Shell Chemical. Her background also includes teaching at Averett College and overseeing computer training for a business training organization. Linda has written numerous books for various publishers on PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access, and Windows. An experienced teacher, she has also written more than 20 instructor's manuals. Additionally, she's penned more than 200 articles for Smart Computing and Computer Power Users magazines on wide-ranging computer topics-from using the Internet to troubleshooting hardware and software problems. She also writes monthly how-to columns on PowerPoint and Excel. Linda, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, lives on a small farm near the Great Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee, with her husband, Lonnie, and her daughters, Rebecca and Sarah. Besides authoring books, Linda home educates her daughters. When she's not writing, you can probably find her hiking in the mountains (or horseback riding) with her family.show more
