The postscript to an article on Prussia and tire Vatican, in your December number, needs an answer, and it shall be given. For a writer who affirms that the Head of the Catholic Church claims to be the Incarnate and Visible Word of God I have really compassion. Either he sincerely knows no better, and for such exceptional want of knowledge is worthy of all pity, or, knowing better, he is an object of compassion for graver reasons.
