Urin G the last few months of Mr. Harrington's life, the assurance that he was rapidly hastening away gave all his words an especial value to me, and led to the habit, unnoticed by him, of committing them to bits of paper for future perusal. After he went home, I collected and copied these writings, and shared the pleasure they gave me with a few friends. Inﬂuenced by the interest they awakened, and by advice given me, I finally de termined to precede them with a brief outline of my husband's history, and thus give them to the public, hop ing they might assist others, fighting the same fight of.
