Melaleuca dissitiflora, commonly known as creek tea-tree, is a shrub of the Melaleuca genus native to AustraliaThe plant has a height of 2 to 5 metres (7-16 ft), a width of 2 to 4 metres (7-13 ft), and grows at a medium to fast rate. The species occurs in Western Australia, South Australia, the Northern Territory and Queensland. A shrub or bush is distinguished from a tree by its multiple stems and shorter height, usually under 5-6 m (15-20 ft) tall. A large number of plants can be either shrubs or trees, depending on the growing conditions they experience. Small, low shrubs such as lavender, periwinkle and thyme are often termed subshrubs.
