Megan Slankard (born June 15, 1983, Tracy, California) is an American musician and singer-songwriter. Slankard produced and recorded her first album, "Lady is a Pirate" with a computer, and some at-home production equipment. Slankard is the founder of the Megan Slankard Band and has been a topic in articles by Rockgirl Magazine, Owl Magazine, The Synthesis, Fresh Tracks and Women In Rock. Slankard toured with David Knopfler and collaborated with him on his 2005 album, Ship of Dreams and co-wrote the title song. Slankard's album, Freaky Little Story appeared on the Acoustic Guitar 2004 Top 5 list and was a semi-finalist in Discmaker's 2007 Independent Music World Series and International Songwriting more
