Would suggest treatment: Frequent application of blisters to the sacrum and the daily use of electric bath to the lower extremities as hot as the patient can have before going to bed at night, and 'the pole of the battery to be applied to the spine, the other in the water; to be continued at least thirty minutes. D., of Campbellsburg, Ky., wishes a permanent cure for phlegmonous or cellular cutaneous erysipelas. I do not know that there is anything permanent, in the sense of cure, for the same causes acting, that first produced the disease, will again cause its return, unless prophylactics are used. The doctor wishes a good remedy, and I will give him one which served me well in a like case, and the disease has not returned for over two years. It had, prior to my treatment, returned every February from the 15th to the 25th. Now, Brother Humston, this is the remedy: B. Potass. Iodide 20 grains. Aquae 4 ounces. Dissolve, then add tinct. ferri chloridi, one drop at a time, till the solution has a deep red color. Give a teaspoonful every two or four hours.
