Maylandsea, and the adjacent Mayland, are villages on the Dengie peninsula in the English county of Essex. They are part of the Althorne ward of the Maldon district, and have a Parish Council that covers both villages. The local parish church is St Barnabas, which is in the Diocese of Chelmsford. It was built in 1867.There are two public houses: the Horny Toad, which is situated by the boat yard and marina, and Hardy's (recently refurbished and previously known as The General Lee until July 2010). Maylandsea Bay Sailing Club and Harlow (Blackwater) Sailing Club are based in the village. The local school is Maylandsea County Primary School, in Katonia Avenue. There is a small local shop (Nisa) located near the bakery and barber's.
