Description

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Maxim Viktorovich Marinin (born March 23, 1977 in Volgograd, Russia) is a retired Russian pair skater. With partner Tatiana Totmianina, he is the 2006 Olympic Champion, two-time World Champion, and five-time European Champion. Marinin was born in Volgograd, Russia, and began skating at age four. He teamed up with Tatiana Totmianina in 1996. Both began their careers as singles skaters, but after losing to the much younger Evgeni Plushenko, Marinin realized he would not be competitive in singles skating and elected to switch to pairs. Totmianina and Marinin made consistent progress on the world scene through the late 90's. After dating for a while, they ended their relationship but remained close friends - Totmianina stated he is like a brother to her. In 2001, they moved to the United States to train under 1984 Olympic Pairs Champion Oleg Vasiliev.show more
