Masuri or Mashori is a clan of the Baloch Bugti tribe that resides in the Punjab, Balochistan and Sindh provinces of Pakistan. It is one of the most prominent tribes of Bugtis living in the area of Phelawagh, Khelara, Qalandri, Baker, Baglar, and Sham Kalchas. Its population is estimated to be around 50,000. It is made up of three sub-tribes that are both interdependent and competitive against one another: the Nohkani, the Jafferani, and the Bakhshwani. These tribes are known for their hospitality, bravery and hard work. However, they lack in education. The literacy rate is in the single digits, which has hindered their quality of life. There are no paved roads in the area, no electricity, no hospitals and no supply of clean drinking water. Therefore from onward as time passed that section of Baloch population came to be known as Mastoi.
