Description

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Markham River is a river in eastern Papua New Guinea. It originates in the Finisterre Range and flows for 180 km (110 miles) to empty into the Huon Gulf at Lae. The river was named in 1873 by Captain John Moresby in honour of Sir Clements Markham, then secretary of the Royal Geographical Society. A river is a natural watercourse, usually freshwater, flowing towards an ocean, a lake, a sea, or another river. In a few cases, a river simply flows into the ground or dries up completely before reaching another body of water.show more
