Description

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Mario Lanfranchi (born June 30, 1927) is an Italian film director and producer, of both television and film. He was married to Italian-American soprano Anna Moffo. Born in Parma, he studied at the Accademia dei Filodrammatici in Milan. He was hired by Italian Television (RAI) and directed a number of successful opera productions made for TV, the first being Madama Butterfly, featuring the then virtually unknown and inexperienced Anna Moffo. The TV broadcast aired on January 24, 1956, and made Moffo an overnight sensation in Italy. They married on December 8, 1957; the couple divorced on May 9, 1974.show more
