About Mark E Brooks

Mark Brooks, middle child of Phyllis Brooks, is a Chicago born, Gary, Indiana raised father of four. He began writing as a young man as a way to express his thoughts through poetry after a friend had a poem posted in a newspaper. Writing off and on throughout his life, Mark didn't become serious about his writing until 2014 while coping with divorce and single fatherhood. Being brought up with a traditional church background, everything from his writing, to being a radio show host and co-host, to his participation in various protests is aimed at helping and defending others who may either be too afraid or unable to defend themselves. The Man Up Blueprint is the story of how an insecure, aloof, fatherless, introvert became an outspoken, over thinking, father of four. Being told to be a man without any idea of what that meant would be the burning question that would send Mark on a journey of self-discovery and self- reflection.
